THE
INTERVIEW
CelebFakirs.com: Why the Faking Alias?
I am a big fan of the television series "The Highlander". Methos is a
character on that show.
CelebFakirs.com: How did you find out celebrity
faking existed?
I had a friend who told me about the newsgroups and told me I should
check it out. I did and was amazed at what I saw. This was around 1999
or so, I think.
CelebFakirs.com: What was the first fake you ever
saw and who faked it?
Oh man, I really don't remember for certain. One I do remember from a
long time ago was one of tennis player Gabriella Sabatini. The fake was
on a beach and was being passed the net around as real. At the time I
really didn't know any better and assumed it was real. Later I found out
it was a fake. Don't know who the fakir was though.
CelebFakirs.com: What made you get into faking?
A hot chick at work got me started. Put some pics of her on some nudes
with a piece of crap scanner photo editing program. Then I found out
about the newsgroups. I lurked around there for a long time. I finally
tried my hand at a few fakes somewhere around 2000, I think. They were
pretty bad for the most part. I wasn't really serious about it. Played
around mainly. I did manage to get a Limited Photoshop 5 though. Later I
had a computer crash and lost everything I had collected. I went
probably 3 years or more and didn't even have Photoshop installed on my
computer. I started getting the itch again earlier this year, loaded up
Photoshop and started learning how to fake.
CelebFakirs.com: Who was the lucky celeb who was
first faked by yourself?
It was Faith Hill. I don't have the fake and it was too bad for any
collector to save. I have never seen it anywhere since I posted it
originally in the ng.
CelebFakirs.com: Who has been the biggest
influence in you're faking career to date?
I would have to say there are 2; Fubar and Holden. Since I came onto the
scene this year, Fubar has shown infinite patience in fielding my
questions, teaching me techniques, offering advice, wipping my work and
overall encouragement. There are others who have helped me a great deal
but Fubar invested alot of time with me and I appreciate everything he
has done to help me. Holden has helped me a great deal in taking my
faking to another level. He has challenged me to do things I had never
thought of previously. He is also very patient and has an excellent way
of teaching about him. He critiques and teaches at the same time and
really has a knack for it. Both are excellent guys and I wouldn't be
where I am today without their help.
CelebFakirs.com: Who would you consider to be the
best fakir around at the moment?
Active right now....I would have to say Proto. The guy produces some
amazing work.
CelebFakirs.com: Who would you consider to be the
best fakir of all time?
Tough question. Alot of that depends on what your criteria of "the best"
might be. Artistically, I would say Vincent. Consistant top quality and
longevity; Fredd.
Technically and creatively - Proto. Doc Fakenhouser has produced some
amazing work, too.
CelebFakirs.com: And for the future, do you see
any fresh faces that you think will go on to be the best one day?
Technically, I am still a fresh face. But if I look at some of the new
faces that have come on to the scene since I have, there is definitely
some potential there.
CelebFakirs.com: What do you consider to be you're
best fake to date?
Not sure if this is my best but I was pretty pleased with how this
Angelina Jolie turned out.
CelebFakirs.com: What has been the
highlight of you're career so far?
Becoming an Admin at The Fake Place.
CelebFakirs.com: Why the alter-ego choice?
I'm a big Connery fan. He gets better with age. Since I am in the older
age group of fakirs, it seemed appropiate.
CelebFakirs.com: If you could marry any celeb who
would it be?
Natalie Portman. She's a combination of beauty and brains.
CelebFakirs.com: And who would be you're bit on
the side?
If I had Natalie, I wouldn't need one.
CelebFakirs.com: Do you have funny stories to tell
us?
I can't think of one at the moment.
CelebFakirs.com: Where do you see yourself in 5,
10 years time?
Probably sitting at my computer...LOL
CelebFakirs.com: Where do you see the faking world
being in 5, 10 years time?
I think it will still be around in some form. I believe the quality of
work will keep getting better though. Fakirs have great sources of high
quality materials, tutorials and programs to work with as opposed to 5
years ago. That trend will most likely continue.
CelebFakirs.com: Is there anything that you would
like to add?
I love learning and trying new techniques. There is always something new
to learn.
CelebFakirs.com: Finally.... Celebrity fakes, art
or porn?
Both...Depends on who is looking at it.
