THE STRIP
The Strip Story The Strip was co-founded by Doc Fakenhouser and Vincent around march 2003. The creation of the Strip essentially came from a bust up between Vincent and the black devils of the laundr-o-mat which made them part ways. At the time of Vincent leaving the black devils there was no other major English speaking faking forum and thus left him without a home forum. After Vincent had a discussion with Fubar about this problem Fubar mentioned to vincent that Doc Fakenhouser was looking to make a new faking forum without all the "bullshit". After this meeting The Strip was born. When the Strip started they had many new and exciting faking contests and concepts which made them an instant hit with the majority of fakirs. One of which was the (now commonly seen) duel's section where 1 fakir "dueled" another fakir with the same material to see who made the better fake. But the biggest hit by far on the new Strip forum was the "great fake cup". The great fake cup was a faking tournament which made teams the focus of an individual hobby. The concept was simple enough, a team of 6-8 fakirs and 1 hunter would team up and while the hunter collected material for faking the fakirs would make general fakes and fakes for specific contests. For everything points would be awarded by "judges" (usually moderators) based on skill, color matching etc. After some final awards for things like "most improved fakir" etc all the points would be added up. The points for each team would then be compared and the winners would be the ones with the most points. There were 10 cups in all. Tournaments like this were a new concept in the faking world and soon made The Strip the undisputed number 1 fakirs community. However it was not all rosy for The Strip as most of the team were ex-black devils and most of the core members in the early days used to be "ghetto fakirs" the black devils held a grudge and "attacked" The Strip on several occasions. However this only seemed to encourage even more mat members to make The Strip their home forum increasing The Strips number 1 status. The Laundr-o-mat has never recovered from "The strip - black devils war". But added with the pressure of attacks with that the cost of running the forum both financially and time wise put a strain on the admin and moderators as they increasingly saw their hard work took for granted. After server issues on V.2 it convinced Doc Fakenhouser it was time to close the doors and move on. However 'New Fake City' spawned from the closure of The Strip with many of the same team members and core members. The KNFC also has close relations to the great fake cup. Communities with
