THE
INTERVIEW
CelebFakirs.com:
What does TFP actually stand for? TFP: Ah, yes... the classic question.
Actually it's like this, when I first started faking I didn't know about
the community or that one was expected to have a "name". I was
completely website oriented. My goal was to build up a website with
homemade celebrity porn. After one of my not-so-creative moments I
decided that the site should be called "Totally Fake Pictures" (most of
all to protect me from potential law suits) I then started marking my
fakes with the acronym "TFP" to indicate that they originated from my
site...
When I started to post my fakes at the ABPNCF group I did so
anonymously, but people saw the logo and replied "Great fake, TFP!" and
so I was baptized.
During my early years I thought about changing it a
couple of times, but I was too lazy and the prospect of reestablishing
my identity in the community deterred me. Over the years friends have
told me that if I had a better name people would, to a larger extent,
remember who I am, but I don't really care... I hope they remember the
fakes, that's enough. I don't even put my name on more than about
half of them anymore.
CelebFakirs.com: How did you find out celebrity faking existed?
TFP: I actually "invented"
celebrity faking. Then I stumbled on a couple of sites on the Internet
and realized that I wasn't the first to do that.
CelebFakirs.com: What was the first fake you ever saw and who
faked it? TFP: I have no idea. The first fakes I saw that impressed
me were made by fredd38.
CelebFakirs.com: What made you get into faking? TFP: I wanted to learn more about Photoshop and at the
time (1998) most of the pics you could find on the Internet were either
porn or celebrities...
CelebFakirs.com: Who was the lucky celeb who was first faked by you're self? TFP:
That would be Gillian Anderson.
CelebFakirs.com:
When did you do you're first fake? TFP:
The first one I actually published was in January 1999... after about 8
months of practicing.
CelebFakirs.com: Who has been the biggest influence in you're faking career to date?
TFP:
I've really tried to follow my own ideas, but on occasion I've been
inspired by people like Vincent and proto.
CelebFakirs.com: Who would you consider to be the best fakir around at the moment? TFP:
I think that's a difficult question to give a short answer to. We are
all good at different things. I've worked quite a bit with digital image
editing professionally, I've also worked as a Photographer, as well as a
Photoshop teacher for several years. All those things combined probably
makes me the most technically knowledgeable faker as well as the fastest
in the community, but I still miss stuff and make heads a tad bit too
big sometimes. In my mind the best faker is the person who has the best
balance between skill, talent and imagination. On occasion that person
may be me, most of the time it's probably someone else. But I'm going to
keep trying!
CelebFakirs.com: Who would you consider to be the best fakir of all time? TFP:
Hopefully someone who hasn't started faking yet... because if it's one
of the people who's been around so far this thing isn't really going
anywhere.
CelebFakirs.com: And for the future, do you see any fresh faces that you think will go
on to be the best one day? TFP:
I've seen a lot of guys, like Holden and teeceethree, unleash loads of
talent in a short time, but you never know. One thing's for certain, the
overall standard has gone up tremendously since I started out. There are
a lot more good intermediate fakers today then there were only 3-4 years
ago. Fakers are learning a lot from each other and techniques that only
the "masters" knew before have become common amongst people starting
out.
CelebFakirs.com: What was you're best fake ever? TFP:
I always say my next fake will be my best fake ever... hopefully I'll
continue to be wrong, otherwise I must be getting worse at this. The
stuff I look back on most fondly are my combos and ads, the stuff that's
not just porn but also satire.
CelebFakirs.com: What has been the highlight of you're career so far? TFP: I think for me, running a forum really added a new dimension to this
hobby, I love the social aspect of this community and all the wacky
people in it! In the old days we had the ABPNCF news group, but that
never came close to being this nice.
CelebFakirs.com: Why the alter-ego choice? TFP:
Why not? I'm sure it represents some aspect of my subconscious that I
needed to air out a bit.
CelebFakirs.com: If you could marry any celeb who would it be? TFP:
I really don't think I would ever want to marry a celeb. I would
probably settle for having sex with a few of them...
CelebFakirs.com: And who would be you're bit on the side? TFP:
Oh, same as now... Hypo.
CelebFakirs.com: Do you have funny stories you can tell us? TFP:
About faking? It's always fun to impress the crap out of RL friends with
the ability to manipulate their photos... it's also a great ice-breaker
at work, as long as you don't use porn obviously! The funniest thing is
that no one's ever catched on to why I'm so good at swapping heads in
pictures.
CelebFakirs.com: Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years time? TFP:
I may or may not be faking, if I can continue to challenge myself and
find new ways to expand the hobby, I think it's quite possible I will.
CelebFakirs.com: where do you see the faking world being in 5, 10 years time? TFP:
Who knows? Depends on where the technology goes. A lot of people are
talking about stuff like 3D rendering and Video being the future, I just
hope I'm around to see if their right.
CelebFakirs.com: Finally.... Celebrity fakes, art or porn? TFP:
Well, it should always be porn... that's sort of the point. If it's
beautifully rendered with a lot of creativity, I say it can be both.
